Light of love atop Brooklyn

A friend mentioned how much he liked the light in Brooklyn. I agreed it was beautiful, yet in the back of my mind could still see the “pink” of Ojai- as the sunsets are referred to in slang there. Not dismissing his perspective internally, rather, I hadn’t yet felt the depth of Brooklyn’s light he was referencing, that was not until tonight. With a sudden break in the thunderstorm, Sunday’s sunset enveloped the night time sky from behind the clouds, blanketing Brooklyn with an even and ubiquitous magenta-y sepia hue, giving us a delicately still backdrop for love atop Brooklyn.

A New Perspective

Welcome to Karie Henderson’s blog. Here you’ll find my visual and written musings that hopefully will motivate and move you as they do me, and perhaps further. I consider myself a visual, cultural documentarian, using a camera as my vehicle of expression. Sharing while building a bridge of understanding into the world and people who occupy it.
